The 1% Difference
RED C is delighted to give all staff 2 days leave per year to work for a charity of their own choosing, in order that they can give 1% of their time to a cause they believe in.
Our chosen charity is The Irish Wheelchair Association in Clontarf, which provides a range of support services for people with disabilities. The services they provide include assisted living, motoring services to help support disabled people in gaining increased independence and mobility, training and employment initiatives, sport and recreational facilities, wheelchair solutions and a range of outreach services in the local community.
Each summer all RED C staff also spend a half day volunteering at the Irish Wheelchair Association’s premises in Clontarf, painting rooms, washing windows and digging and planting a new garden.
RED C have nominated three charities that we use to provide respondents an opportunity to donate to charity for giving their time to conduct research. These are:-
The mission of the Irish Cancer Society , the national cancer care charity, is to play a vital role in achieving world-class cancer services in Ireland, to ensure fewer people get cancer and those that do have better outcomes.
Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin is committed to providing family centred health care in a compassionate and supportive environment where each child receives the highest standards of health care.
Trócaire is the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland. It was set up by the Irish Catholic Bishops in 1973 to express the concern of the Irish Church for the suffering of the world’s poorest and most oppressed people.
RED C has a clear environmental policy for the workplace, with recycling and energy saving part of everyday life in the organisation.
All paper, plastic and aluminium is recycled, we also have clear policies on energy efficiency – with all staff committed to using less resources in the work they do. Our printing policy reduces waste by printing only when necessary, and then using the least paper possible.
